Bring the joy of art to our Community.
Become an instructor with the Council for the Arts.

  • Art Classes at the Council

Do you have an artistic skill you would like to share with others? Painting, drawing, pastels, watercolors, artisan crafts like weaving, felting, woodworking, jewelry making, etc.

One day workshops, multi day classes or ongoing technical instruction.

Council instructors will make 50% of the listed class fee. We suggest a class supply list that students purchase, or the instructor can provide those materials and factor that into the cost of the course. Instructors set the price for their courses. Instructors are required to fill out a W-9 and provide background clearances where appropriate if instructing children.

We have multiple Arts Express locations we service teaching simple arts classes to the Chambersburg community. In addition we offer weeklong summer camps. Arts Express classes are generally 1 1/2 hours long, on the same day of the week, for 4 weeks. Pay for instructors is set at $60 for each day taught (includes time for prep and cleanup.)

Summer Camps are held at the Council Monday-Friday per one week session. Hours are 9-12 pm. Pay is $300/week session.
