Log Basket

Age: Adult & Teen
Instructor: Susan Matson
Date(s): Mondays, November 25 & December 2, 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

This basket gets its striking good looks from the purposeful placement of two colors of dyed reed, and the addition of natural contrasting surface decoration.  Measuring 12” square at the filled base, 14” tall, and about 16” across at the rim, the basket is created entirely with over-and-under weaving.  In the photo, you see dark (reddish) uprights, and medium-toned (caramel) contrasting weavers. The instructor will be providing gray or dark brown material (student choice) for the uprights, seaglass (a pale aqua) or smoked or warm tan (again, student choice) for the contrasting weavers.  A sturdy half-round rim and leather handles will complete your creation.  Because of the lead time required for dyeing reed, student must make color choices by November 4, or take what is available.  All skill levels are welcome.  This is an especially great basket for beginning weavers! Materials fee $62 payable to instructor.
